Vietnam – Patients Suffer from Symptoms of Hemophilia, Suspect Poisoning

December 11, 2013; Posted by: webleed staff

The Institute of Hematology – Blood Transfusion has nine (9) patients from the Tan Yen district who suffered from non-stop subcutaneous hemorrhage and stump bleeding.

Interesting story out of Vietnam today as 9 patients who were suspected of having the bleeding disorder hemophilia may have actually showed effects of being poisoned.  From nosebleeds to dental and urinary bleeding, each person showed very similar symptoms to having hemophilia.

Dr. Nguyen Thi Mai, Head of the Hemophilia Ward, told VietnamNet that the victims were poisoned by an anti-vitamin substance, which may come from rat poison. A group of leading doctors on blood transfusion and anti-poison visited the homes of patients in Bac Giang to find out the cause. They also collected blood samples of the family members for testing. The case has been reported to the Health Ministry.

More information will be  reported on this story once it is brought to our attention.
