Hemophilia Swimmer shares experiences in new book

February 4, 2014; Posted by: WeBleed staff

Remember Jack Bridge, the young man from Preston, England who swam in the 2012 Paraolympics in London that we featured back in December? (Click here to read it again). He’s making waves again, this time it is what he is doing out of the pool that is capturing attention.  The 19-year-old is sharing his experiences of living with hemophilia in a book titled, “Buddies”, funded by Novo Nordisk pharmaceutical company.

Jack told the Lancashire Evening Post, “I haven’t let my haemophilia hold me back. In fact, as a result of my condition, I have been to places that I never dreamed of. I wanted to share my positive experiences with other people to show that haemophilia needn’t stop you from leading a normal life. My advice to anyone is that if you want something, you have to work hard; no one is going to get it for you. Don’t let haemophilia stop you from having a normal life.”

As Jack sets his swimming goals towards 2016 Paraolympics in Rio, we look forward to seeing the impact he makes both in and out of the swimming pool.
