Young Man With Sickle Cell Anemia Finds Match
Isaiah Newsome is a 17 year old with sickle cell anemia. In January of 2014, he was put on a bone marrow donor list and recently found a match. Depending on how well Isaiah’s body takes to the transplant, doctors say the treatment process could take six months or more.
“It wasn’t as long as some people, some people wait a lifetime and never get that opportunity so we are truly grateful,” Isaiah’s mom Charice said to Channel 13 News.
