Eleven year old, Seth Patsakos got the thrill of a lifetime when an autographed football signed by the Denver Broncos arrived at his parents’ Staten Island home.
“I opened it and I turned it over, and I saw the signatures and the Denver Broncos thing,” Seth told CBS 2′s Hazel Sanchez. “And I was so excited. I was, like, screaming.”
“All the signatures — I’m still speechless,” Seth said.
Seth and two of his three brothers all suffer from hemophilia, a rare bleeding disorder where the blood does not clot normally. But that doesn’t stop Seth from doing the things that he loves.
“I like to play football and do a lot of things that my friends do because, I say that I have hemophilia, but hemophilia doesn’t have me,” Seth said.
What does have Seth’s attention, especially as the teams roll into New Jersey for Super Bowl 48, is the Denver Broncos – he has been a fan for years.
The ball was a gift, orchestrated by Broncos long snapper Aaron Brewer.
Seth’s mother, Christine, said the joy the team has given her son is better than any medication, “To all of them my family is so grateful to them because I know that this is something that, I don’t think he could have ever imagined it.”
