Plasma Protein Therapeutics Association (PPTA) announces International Plasma Awareness Week this October.
According to a press release from PRNewswire, an international organization will sponsor events throughout the world next week, October 12-18 in recognition of International Plasma Awareness Week. The Plasma Protein Therapeutics Association (PPTA) plans to use these events as a way to raise global awareness about source plasma collection, recognize the contribution of plasma donors in saving and improving lives, and increase understanding about lifesaving plasma therapies and rare diseases.
“Patients throughout the world rely on plasma protein therapies which are developed through the generosity and commitment of plasma donors. PPTA is proud of the contributions industry makes to saving and improving lives,” said Joshua Penrod, PPTA Vice President.
The donated plasma throughout the world is used to conduct and produce new therapies that are used to treat chronic diseases that include bleeding disorders and immune deficiencies as well as in emergency medical situations. Stay tuned to PPTA’s website for more details next week.
