Oklahoma – Pageant Winner Raises Hemophilia Awareness

March 17, 2014; Posted by: WeBleed staff

Miss Broken Arrow Teen winner chooses hemophilia as her platform for contest.

Danielle Simms, the 2014 Miss Broken Arrow Teen contest pageant winner of Oklahoma, knew exactly what her platform for the contest would be – hemophilia. March is hemophilia awareness month and Ms. Simms wants people to know exactly what the condition is all about.

“My brother has hemophilia,” said Simms told BALedger.com. “We are affected by this directly.”

Simms sees firsthand how her brother, Kyle, has endured and handled things since 2003. She hopes to raise $4,000 on the Hemophilia Walk for the Cure on April 26 in Tulsa’s Mohawk Park. The money raised will go to the Oklahoma Hemophilia Foundation for families that are affected by the disease.
