February 10, 2015; Posted by: WeBleed staff

Local family shares their trials and tribulations with hemophilia.

After being born with club feet and having to have surgery as an infant, a New Mexico family learned their son had uncontrollable bleeding caused by the blood disorder hemophilia. Zayden Ramos almost lost his life as an infant until the medical professionals at the University of New Mexico Hospital were finally able to stop the bleeding.

“It was a close call,” Angelie Garcia, Zayden’s mom, told the Ruidoso News. “We almost lost him.”
