Mother Shares Son’s Factor V Story

National Blood Clot Alliance showcases mother of 15 year old son with Factor V Leiden.

Serious blood clots do not choose certain ages or races of people.  They can happen to anyone.  Teenagers are not exempt from this as well.

Elizabeth shared her story about how her son, Ryu, was diagnosed with Factor V Leiden in 2012. Factor V Leiden increases the tendency to form abnormal blood clots that can block blood vessels, leading to future and serious issues like Deep Vein Thrombosis.
