Natalie Jones, who just gave birth 2 weeks ago and was recently diagnosed with thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP), in need of platelets.
According to Medicine Plus, thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP) is a blood disorder that causes blood clots to form in small blood vessels around the body, and leads to a low platelet count. Natalie Jones was found to have it after she successfully gave birth 2 weeks ago. Now she needs numerous platelet transfusions to keep her energy up and maintain her day to day life.
Doctors tell her family that she cannot go home until her platelet levels are back to normal.
She’s already had two transfusions, but she still needs more people to donate plasma. “She needs 25 liters,” Natlaie’s husband Clay tells News Channel 12.
According to Mississippi Blood Services:
Each transfusion requires about 17 people’s plasma. That means, Nicole still needs four dozen people to roll-up their sleeves and help. But, they have to be men with blood types AB-positive or AB-negative.
