Michigan Student Shares His Story Living With Hemophilia

Travis Albright, senior at the University of Michigan, opens up about his life with hemophilia.
Travis Albright was recently interviewed by the Ann Arbor Journal about living with a bleeding disorder, specifically, hemophilia.
“My biggest challenge in living with hemophilia is communicating to people … what this condition is,” Albright says. “People hear hemophilia and it’s very easy to go to a place where you say, ‘If you get a paper cut you’re going to die.’ They think you’re in some sort of danger. And that’s not the case; we can manage the condition today … where everyone can live a normal life.”
Those with hemophilia have overcome many obstacles with the disorder over the years. Now with the advancements in research and medication, there remains a hope for a cure and that technology can catch up with the times.
