Make-A-Wish Foundation helps 8-year-old live out his dream.

Carter Hucks has always been a University of Miami Hurricanes fan.  According to an article posted by Channel 7 News Miami/Fort Lauderdale, the 8-year-old was able to live his dream when he joined Miami’s football team on Saturday. Thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the University of Miami, Carter was able to march down Miami’s walk at Sun Life Stadium. Carter is scheduled to have a bone marrow transplant and is currently battling Fanconi anemia, a rare blood disorder.

“Being a Hurricane is fun,” Carter told reporters in his pre-game news conference.  During the week, Carter was able to practice with the team and then took the field with them wearing number 8.

“I thought he would leave an indelible mark on our team during the week, and he did,” said head coach Al Golden. “He actually uplifted us, so really proud that he and his family could join us.”

Sounds like a great experience and a neat way to also raise awareness for Fanconi anemia – congrats Carter!
