October 13, 2014; Posted by: WeBleed staff

Family shares their story about living with hemophilia.

An article posted by Yahoo News in Australia, showcases a family that explains life with the rare bleeding disorder, hemophilia, and their son who is among 5,800 Australians living with the disorder.  Jayden Wong’s parents were unsure about what to expect with this genetic condition.

“It was a big shock,” says his mother Lyn, “We didn’t know what hemophilia was and it was scary hearing it was a lifelong illness and that there was no cure for it.”

During Hemophilia Awareness Week (October 12-18), Australians are encouraged to hold events to raise funds for support programs through the Haemophilia Foundation Australia (HFA). Click this link to continue reading this story.
