The Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI) released its Xtreme Eating Awards for 2014 this morning. CSPI has been handing out “awards” to the worst caloric offenders in chain restaurants since 2007.
At webleed.org we feel its important to not only give you stories and news specifically about bleeding and clotting disorders…but to bring you information on living a healthy lifestyle as well.
Typically we find ourselves leaning on the old adage, “Everything in moderation.” That can be incredibly hard to do if you like to dine at The Cheesecake Factory (who made CSPI’s list 3 times this year) or any of the other stops along the list.
Here are some of this years “winners”:
Entry/Chain: Stats
- Bruléed French Toast/The Cheesecake Factory: 2,780 calories, 93 grams saturated fat, 2,230 milligrams of sodium, and 24 teaspoons of sugar
- Monster Meal (Burger, Fries, Milkshake)/Red Robin: 1,670 calorie burger; 370 calorie/serving “bottomless fries”; 1,500 calorie “Monster Salted Caramel Milkshake”. The meal brings two days’ worth of calories, 3½ days’ saturated fat (69 grams), and four days’ sodium (6,280 milligrams)
