Hemorrhage control kits recently given to Massachusetts emergency responders.
According to a recent article by the Salem Patch, over 30 hemorrhage kits were recently distributed among the 85 Northeast Homeland Security Regional Advisory Council’s member communities, which includes Salem. A hemorrhage kit’s contents are selected for quality, ease of use and multi-functionality.
The contents include the following -tourniquets, Israeli bandages, hemostatic gauze, and other items critical to providing the damage control necessary to save lives in the immediate aftermath of an even involving explosives or ballistics or for someone experiencing intense bleeding.
The hope is that these kits will stop the bleeding in record time before more damage can be done to the body.
